Praescient Analytics has exciting opportunities for Sr. Data Analysts who will be members of the Data Engineering Scrum Teams. Identify and collect data sources, analyze and extract key data and information, and evaluate and monitor data quality to meet the organization's information system needs and requirements. Apply basic principles, theories, and concepts as well as limited industry knowledge. Solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity and refer more complex issues to higher levels. Work under direct supervision. Our ideal candidates will create trends in data sets and develop algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the enterprise. But our data analysts also need communication skills to work across departments to understand what business leaders want to gain from the company’s large datasets. The Defense and Intelligence Communities need your help in efficiently processing massive amounts of structured and unstructured data obtained daily. As a Data Analyst, you can enable access to critical data fragments and assist in forming a cohesive picture of current and future threats - the answers are in the data.
You will have the opportunity to leverage your analytical and technical skills to improve our understanding of current and emerging threats utilizing “Big Data” processing tools. Enable the defense of our Nation and Allies by assisting our customers to formulate their questions and then digging into their data-rich environment to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll develop write scripts, develop algorithms, build predictive analytics, leverage and refine automation concepts, apply machine learning, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn disparate data sets into intelligence enabling our clients to understand the emerging threats and make informed decisions. You will assist our customers to understand their data, build graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products on intelligence trends and assist in its use.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information science, data management, computer science or related field preferred.
- Three to Five years of experience in data analysis or computer programming.
- Experience working with industry standards, regulations, and guidelines in database warehousing and other relevant systems.
- Experience working with information security practices and available security software packages.
- Experience working with domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures.
- Experience working with relational databases.
- Ensure master data integrity in key systems as well as maintaining the processes to support the data quality.
- Identify areas for data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
- Ensure quality of master data in key systems, as well as, development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
- In collaboration with subject matter experts (SME’s) and data stewards, defines and implements data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
- Provides assistance in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards.
- Manages, analyzes, and resolves data initiative issues and manages revisions needed to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to published data standards.
- Assists in data management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements with other functional data owners to ensure functional master data integrity across the operation of financial systems is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements.
- Define, design, and build dimensional databases to meet clients needs.
- Assist in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to and integrity of data sets.
- Conduct data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data for better management and quicker access.
- Provide data consulting in support of business and information technology initiatives to clients to improve client database systems.
