Praescient Analytics is in search of a Data Engineer/SQL Sync Specialist to join our team to support the IRS's Information Technology Control Tool (ITCT). This position requires US Citizenship and an MBI clearance.
This position will be remote but must be able to be onsite for any required meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure, automated data synchronization workflows between Dataverse and on-prem SQL Server using Microsoft On-Premises Data Gateway
- Build and maintain error-handling, retry logic, and logging mechanisms to support near real-time data transfer
- Develop and optimize relational data schemas in Dataverse to support normalized storage and reporting
- Coordinate closely with Power Platform developers to align business rules and data model integrity
- Support reporting integration with Power BI and Tableau by ensuring timely and complete data delivery
- Conduct data quality checks and enforce validation logic to ensure accuracy across systems
- Document data flow architecture, sync logic, and transformation rules for transition to government personnel
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizenship and an MBI Clearance.
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or ETL development
- Experience with Microsoft Dataverse or CDS (Common Data Service)
- Strong SQL Server development skills (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing)
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft On-Premises Data Gateway
- Knowledge of Power Platform data architecture (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Experience implementing error-handling and data reconciliation workflows
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control (Azure DevOps preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting IRS or other federal agencies
- Experience working in a Microsoft 365 GCC or FedRAMP environment
- Exposure to Power BI dataset modeling and refresh schedules
- Familiarity with FISMA/NIST 800-53 data handling and security standards
