Position Overview:

Praescient Analytics is seeking a talented and driven Full Stack Java Developer (Software Developer - Journeyman) with React experience to support a critical national security mission with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

In this role, you will provide direct development and engineering support for the National Industrial Security System (NISS)—the DCSA’s secure, cloud-based system of record used to manage and oversee industrial security for contractors working with classified U.S. government information. Operating within a cutting-edge Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, you will bridge the gap between secure backend architecture and modern, responsive user interfaces. You will conduct multidisciplinary research, collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, and determine the feasibility of software designs within project constraints to protect our nation's most sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full-Stack Development: Design, build, test, and debug robust, scalable applications using Java for backend services and React for dynamic, intuitive frontend interfaces.
• Cloud Architecture & IT Modernization: Implement cloud-native software solutions and support the modernization and transformation of the NISS platform to the cloud, utilizing a wide range of AWS ecosystem services.
• COTS Integration: Collaborate with engineering teams in the planning, design, and utilization of cloud-based capabilities for the development, modification, and deployment of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software.
• API & Service Layer Management: Develop, integrate, and consume secure Web Services / RESTful APIs to seamlessly connect backend data layers with the user interface.
• Agile Requirements Analysis: Analyze user needs and client requirements to identify features, develop user stories, and determine design feasibility; collaborate using Jira and Confluence.
• DevSecOps & Automation: Utilize CI/CD automation and DevSecOps practices to increase code delivery velocity and ensure system integrity.
• Cross-Team Communication: Act as a core technical communicator, conferring with systems analysts, engineers, and cross-functional teams to navigate project limitations, capabilities, and performance requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Clearance & Citizenship: Active U.S. Secret clearance is required. Must be a U.S. Citizen to meet federal contract mandates.
• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field with 5–7 years of relevant software development experience OR
  • Master’s degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Core Java Expertise: Strong experience in full-stack development using Java as a core competency alongside enterprise frameworks (such as Spring Boot or Hibernate).
• Frontend Skills: Demonstrated hands-on experience building user interfaces with React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• AWS Cloud Ecosystem: Working knowledge of the AWS ecosystem with hands-on experience using AWS Services (including Microservices, Lambda, SQS/SNS, S3, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB).
• Databases: Knowledge and experience working with both Relational and NoSQL Databases (specifically Oracle and PostgreSQL).
• Tools & DevOps: Proficient with Git, popular CI/CD tools, Jira, and Confluence.
• Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. You must be highly capable of articulating complex technical challenges and project limitations clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates.

Preferred Qualifications:

• An active Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI clearance.
• Prior experience working directly on Department of Defense (DoD) or DCSA programs.
• Advanced knowledge of federal security compliance frameworks and identity access management in cloud-native applications.
